Promotion Of Medicinal & Aromatic Plants (MAP) Project:

Currently, MIMDI is implementing a 3-year project on the “ Promotion Of Medicinal & Aromatic Plants (MAP) Based Livelihood Opportunities In the North Eastern Region To Augment Rural Income Through The Establishment of An Entrepreneurial Ecosystem” initially funded by North Eastern Council, Shillong for livelihood in Ri-Bhoi and Garo Hills of Meghalaya. Medicinal plants like Lemongrass, Stevia & Patchouli have been grown in nurseries and on community lands in Ri-Bhoi and Garo Hills of Meghalaya and harvested. The aromatic plant extracts/oils after packaging and value addition would be marketed by the farmers helping them in livelihood generation. Capacity building & training on MAP cultivation & harvesting have been imparted to the village community.
